Take the reigns and enjoy a private picturesque horse ride through the stunning backcountry, not far from Christchurch city. Meander along woodland areas and verdant grasslands, and cross the clear blue waters of the Waimakariri River, with gorgeous scenery on offer in all seasons.
Gallivant through breathtaking scenery on horseback during this private two-hour horse trail just 20 minutes north of Christchurch. Once settled on your horse, you'll follow your guide out to the backcountry and ride along a diverse range of terrain, including luscious woodland areas and open green spaces. You'll then head along the riverbed before crossing the cool, blue waters of the Waimakariri River, often the highlight of the ride for many. Photo opportunities are aplenty during the ride, with a gorgeous backdrop on offer in all seasons, including snow-peaked mountains in the winter. Your riding ability sets the tone for the ride, and with just you and your instructor along for the ride, you will get to dictate the pace.
If the provider feels that the weather will compromise the safety of the trek, they will contact you and reschedule.
Please wear comfortable long trousers (shorts and three-quarter pants are not recommended), sturdy covered in shoes and other clothing suitable for the conditions.
All participants are required to arrive 30minutes prior to departure time to allow for paper work, helmet fitting and a safety demonstration. Late arrivals may compromise the safety of the ride and therefore may be excluded.
