Be rewarded with some of the most majestic views in New Zealand on this self-guided bike ride from Arrowtown to Queenstown. You will ride on a purpose-built bike trail the entire way, which follows 3 rivers and takes you across stunning scenic bridges. A ride not to be missed!

Witness nature putting on a brilliant show during a self-guided bike ride from Arrowtown to Queenstown. After checking in, in the Queenstown CBD, you will meet your local driver who will take you on a 25 minute scenic drive to Arrowtown. Once there, you'll get fitted to your bike and given a map, safety briefing and all the trail tips needed. You're most welcome to spend some leisure time exploring the charming historic village of Arrowtown, perhaps grabbing a coffee or brunch before setting off on your adventure. You'll follow the Arrow River Bridges Trail toward Queenstown, an undulating path with some uphill sections, but is mostly downhill. As you cruise along the path, it won't be hard to admire some of the most magical views in New Zealand, from river gorges, mountains and scenic bridges. Be sure to stop off along the way to truly drink up the atmosphere.
You've got all day to make it back to Queenstown, so make it as relaxed or upbeat as you like. You'll be riding along a purpose-built riding trail the entire way, so you won't ever have to compete with any vehicles. If you're feeling energetic, you may like to take a diversion to the Kawarau Bungy Bridge, or visit a Gibbston Winery for a quick lunch, before following the trail along the Kawarau River back to Lake Wakatipu and into our Queenstown shop.
Session Length
- Please allow approximately four hours for this experience (at a relaxed pace)
- Summer (1 Sept - 30 April): 9 AM Departure, return no later than 4:30 PM
- Winter (1 May - 31 Aug): 10 AM departure, return by 4.30pm
- The end time may vary depending on the speed you ride and stops. Times stated above are the latest times for returns
Guidelines
- A good level of fitness is required for this ride
- Trail distance is 35km directly back, with sections of hills
- This ride is only recommended for confident riders
- Our electric bike upgrade option is recommended for this ride
Cancellation
- Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
- Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
- Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Weather
The experience provider reserves the right to cancel your ride as a result of unfavourable weather conditions. Weather calls are made on the day, 1 hour prior to the tour departure. You must call the experience provider if you are unsure of the weather on the day.
Dress Code
Activewear and sturdy shoes are recommended.

This ride package starts in Queenstown (3 Searle Lane) with a shuttle ride out to Arrowtown, where your ride starts. Please check in 10 minutes prior to your departure time.
