Bay of Plenty lives up to its name on this half-day wildlife cruise. Feel the thrill at up close encounters with dolphins, huge sunfish, fur seals, whales and more. Listen to insightful commentary, spot whales from the top deck, and enjoy a tipple at the licensed bar.
Remarkable up-close marine encounters make this half-day cruise of the Bay of Plenty a must-do. Laugh at the playful antics of bottlenose dolphins as they leap and race the boat. Spot sea birds riding the currents, and get within snapping distance of the odd giant sunfish, cute fur seals, penguins, turtles, gleaming schools of fish, and even a shark or two. Whale-lovers will be spoilt for choice. Sir James Cook named Bay of Plenty for its abundant food supply, but it could just as easily have been for the number of whales that call the harbour home. Long-finned pilot whales and orcas feed in these deep blue waters and between May to July southern right whales appear with their calves. You might even spot the rare beaked whale, a toothed whale with a nose like a dolphin. Kick back with a wine or beer from the bar and enjoy informed commentary of the bay and islands. With limited numbers onboard, you're guaranteed a very comfortable, quintessential Kiwi experience and wildlife galore.
You must be over 18 to purchase from the bar; photo ID may be required.
