Take in the allure of Fiordland as you enjoy an overnight cruise into the remote wilderness of Doubtful Sound. Soak up the beauty of this spectacular fiord whilst keeping watch for wildlife during a scenic cruise with a nature guide, then spend a magical night on board the vessel.
Sometimes referred to as the 'Sound of Silence,' Doubtful Sound is the deepest and second longest of the South Island's fiords. Departing from Manapouri, begin with a scenic cruise across Lake Manapouri to West Arm, where you'll alight and journey by bus over the Wilmot Pass through lush rainforest to Deep Cove. Here, board the majestic Mariner vessel and discover the Sound's profound silence. During the afternoon, cruise through the fiord accompanied by a specialist nature guide, who will provide commentary and ensure you capture everything, from pods of resident dolphins to rare penguins.
You'll then anchor up at a beautiful sheltered cove where you can explore it in a tender boat or kayak, or feel free relax on deck and soak in the magic of this amazing place. For the more adventurous, there's even a chance to hop in for a dip. As evening falls, be treated to a sumptuous dinner freshly prepared by the onsite chef, before joining your nature guide in the forward saloon for a presentation. Take in the star-dusted skies from the upper deck and mingle with your fellow travellers before retiring to your room for the night. The next morning, recharge with a hearty breakfast and head out for some more cruising, visiting the mesmerising Hall Arm. As the cruise comes to a close, return to Deep Cove for the journey back to Manapouri.
Available between the months of October and May only.

That’s 10% of the Australian population! When we started ‘doing’ experiences in 2001, Facebook didn’t exist; the iPod had just been invented; John Howard was Prime Minister; and Destiny's Child were popular (yikes!). We’ve been at this business of experiences for quite a while, so put your trust in us to show you a good time.
