Embark on a scenic plane flight over Kaikoura and see the true magnitude of the world's largest mammal flourishing in the ocean from the sky. Departing from Kaikoura Airport, you'll jet off and fly above the beautiful waters of Kaikoura, where you'll spot the spectacular sperm whales who call this beautiful part of New Zealand home all year round. With optimal and unobstructed viewing from your window seat, take in the magical sight of these giant creatures thriving in the water from tip to toe. You'll orbit around them and grasp how big and magnificent they really are! Make sure to look out for other species of whales and dolphins who swim through Kaikoura as part of their migratory and feeding route.
This experience is 30 minutes in duration.
A minimum of two adult participants are required for flights to proceed. There is a maximum of 6 passengers per aircraft. If you are travelling in a larger group, your party will be split between fixed wing airvans.
This experience is weather dependent. In the event of unfavourable weather conditions, the experience provider will contact you to reschedule your flight to another day.
Please wear comfortable shoes, warm clothing and sunglasses. Please also bring a camera.
