Get out of the city and out to Auckland's West Coast on this full day eco tour. Explore Muriwai Beach and the gannet colony before a delicious winery lunch and wine tasting.
Famous for its black sand and surfing paradise, Muriwai Beach stretches 60km along Auckland's West Coast and includes a Gannet colony - the most accessible way to view the gannets from Auckland.
An easy hike will take you to the lookouts over the gannet colonies, along with a second hike from the cove at the beginning of the beach.
Spend an hour at the beach for a swim or just relax and enjoy the stunning views across the black sand.
Then, head to one of the oldest wineries for lunch and wine tastings, with a chance to see the vineyard and capture some amazing photos before being returned to the Auckland CBD or airport.
Due to Cyclone Gabriel (February 2023) the walking track to the Gannet Colony is closed. The Gannets are still visible from a distance only.
Cancellation policy (Private Tours) In the event, you have purchased a Private tour and subsequently wish to cancel it, Auckland & Beyond Tours may refund your booking at its sole discretion, in which event you will be charged a cancellation fee as follows: a. 7 – 10 days prior to the date of the tour – 25% of your ticket plus any booking fees and charges. b. 4 – 6 days prior to the date of the tour – 50% of your ticket plus any booking fees and charges. c. 72 hours or less will be charged 100% of the ticket.
