Capture the best scenery the Kapiti Coast has to offer during this full day tour. See sublime vistas from majestic lookouts, visit the world-famous Southwards Car Museum and Nga Manu Nature Reserve, savour lunch at a popular Waikanae Beach restaurant and enjoy a magical helicopter flight.
After pick up in Wellington, you will drive through the northern suburbs to two spectacular lookout points, both affording you with unparalleled vistas of the coast and Kapiti Island. On a clear day you will be able to see the top of the South Island and potentially Mt Ruapehu. Pay a visit to Camp McKay at Paekakariki where the US Marine Corps were based in World War II, before viewing the largest private motor vehicle collection in the Southern Hemisphere at Southwards Car Museum. Make sure to bring your camera to snap some shots of you in front of these stylish cars!
Continue on to Nga Manu Nature Reserve in Waikanae, where you will stroll through the open air aviary housing a host of native birds. Marvel at the cheeky Kakas, take a peak back to prehistoric times and see the Tuatara's and if you're lucky, you may spot a Kiwi in the nocturnal house. Having worked up an appetite by this point, your guide will take you to one of Waikanae’s top cafes or restaurants for a delicious lunch and beverage of your choice. Wind down the day perfectly with a magical helicopter flight, which takes you over the coast, out to Kapiti Island and back to base.
