Get ready for some spine-tingling fun as you conquer the world's longest flying fox in Nelson. Strapped securely in a five-point harness, the ride takes you both forward and backwards, with 1000m of gravity-assisted freefalling, reaching speeds of up to 100km/h, and 600m at a more leisurely pace.

Receive your daily dose of adrenaline at Cable Bay Adventure Park in Nelson, where you will tackle the world's longest flying fox. Set 300 metres above the forest canopy, your adventure begins with a 4km bus journey through pristine native forest to the launch platform of the Skywire. Along the way, your guides will provide entertaining commentary about the park’s diverse native environment, cultural aspects and fun stories. Seating up to four people at a time, you will be strapped securely in a five-point harness. Take a deep breath before being launched along the cable, experiencing 1000m of gravity-assisted freefall that can reach speeds of up to 100km/h, followed by 600m of a more relaxed scenic journey. Then, you will do it all over again - backwards!

This experience is part of the Responsible Range as it was awarded a Enviro-Silver Award. The provider is also working with a range of organisations and individuals to help protect and enhance their 400ha of native forest through pest control, trapping and reforestation.

Session Length

• Please allow 1-1.5 hours for the duration of this experience
• Standard hours are 10am to 4pm, with extended hours in the summer
• Not available on Christmas Day
