Discover the rolling rural Wairarapa countryside and the diversity of the rugged Southern coast in this full day tour. Experience the very best of the region - wine tasting, fish n chips, seal colonies and Cape Palliser - all whilst letting someone else look after the driving!
Meet your guide at your choice of pick up location at 9.30am and travel leisurely through the Hutt Valley and on to the Rimutaka Ranges. Stop at the top of the hills to admire the view then drive down through to the sleepy town of Featherston and inland to the classically restored township of Greytown.
Head on towards Martinborough and tour the township, including a stop at a local winery to taste a sample a selection of the regions finest wines included the celebrated Pinot Noir variety. Then, head south to the historic Lake Ferry pub for a classic Kiwi lunch of fish’n’chips.
After lunch, follow the coastline to the picturesque fishing village of Ngawi and get up close and personal with the grey fur seals and their pups at the seal colony. Continue down the rugged southern coast to the lighthouse at Cape Palliser and work off your lunch climbing the 254 steps to the top, rewarded with an incredible view.
Stop for afternoon tea before heading back over the Rimutaka’s to Wellington, arriving back at your base at approximately 4.30pm.
