Meander through the world famous Waitomo Caves, gazing at the thousands of glowworms that light up the cave ceiling like a starry night sky. This half day tour includes convenient return transfers from Auckland and an hour guided boat ride through the underground river and famous grotto.
This tour departs from Auckland for a pleasant two and a half-hour drive south to the world famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves. The caves are known for it's species of Arachnocampa luminosa, found exclusively in New Zealand, that emit a mesmerising blue-green glow. On arrival, take 30 minutes to stretch your legs, grab some food or enjoy a refreshment before boarding the boat for a guided tour. As you meander along the Waitomo River, prepare to gaze in amazement at the thousands of tiny glowworms that create a dazzling underground galaxy. After this unforgettable experience, enjoy a scenic drive back to Auckland where you can compare your extraordinary photos.

Cancellation policy (Group Tours): In the event, you have purchased a Group tour and subsequently wish to cancel it, Auckland & Beyond Tours may refund your booking at its sole discretion, in which event you will be charged a cancellation fee as follows: a. 7 – 10 days prior to the date of the tour – 25% of your ticket plus any booking fees and charges. b. 3 – 6 days prior to the date of the tour – 50% of your ticket plus any booking fees and charges. c. 48 hours or less will be charged 100% of the ticket.
